Most recognized for: With his height and temper earning him the nickname “The Towering Inferno,” Tom was definitely hot sh!t from the late 60’s to the early 80’s. In total, he captured 16 PGA Tour titles including the ’73 Open Championship. After taking a whack at being a TV analyst, he started designing courses…. and had made contributions to 80 clubs around the world before his balls ended up out of bounds.
