Most recognized for: He became a countercultural icon after producing, co-writing, and starring in 1969’s “Easy Rider.” According to co-star Jack Nicholson, with Mr. Fonda and director Dennis Hopper they smoked more than 150 joints filming the campfire scene alone. 50 years later, Ol’ Pete succumbed to complications of lung cancer.
