Leo Gallagher –
Prop comic, actor, melon head.

Aged 76 years.
Most recognized for: A staple of 80’s cable TV comedy, Gallagher built an entire career out of a single bit. Audiences would sit through hours of mediocre prop and observational comedy just to get “the good part”… where Leo would smash watermelons with an oversized hammer he called the “Sledge-O-Matic.” The routine was so simple, his near-twin brother even took the show out on the road for a while… until he sued his sibling for ripping off his signature shtick.
