Ultiminio “Sugar” Ramos –
Boxer, Cuban, killer pugilist.
December 2, 1941 – September 3, 2017.
Aged 75 years.
Most recognized for: He actually beat a few fukkers to death. Most notably, in a 1963 title bout against world featherweight champion Davey Moore. The nationally televised deathmatch drew the ire of Pope John XXIII and became the inspiration for the Bob Dylan tune “Who Killed Davey Moore?” Yep. That’s a 2nd Dylan song about a boxer, for those of you keeping score at home.
