Most recognized for: Dot’s extensive TV & film career was riddled with roles that were anything but milquetoast. On the small screen, she was a hopeless drama magnet in the 60’s prime time soap opera “Peyton Place.” In theaters, she won an Oscar for playing a boozy nympho in “Written on the Wind” and made her final appearance as a paroled axe murderer in “Basic Instinct.”
