Most recognized for: Between Broadway & prime time TV, he’s played Othello, Idi Amin, and at least a dozen different bitter cops & black cowboys, but a few key film roles punctuated his winding career. He was a Nostromo crew member in “Alien,” mortally wounded by Buzzsaw in “The Running Man,” and keeper of Solitaire’s psychic virginity in “Live and Let Die.” But eventually, the former “Homicide” star got his final curtain call in the Philippines.
